Dr. Roomi gained his extensive theoretical and practical experience in cosmetic surgery during his four years work for the UK’s National Health Service and 22 years in private practice, 11½ of which was in the UK.

Dr. Roomi has attended many training and educational activities in the U.K., United States and the Gulf-Area. He had regular hands on training on the latest techniques in plastic and cosmetic surgery at a leading plastic surgery center in Los Angeles.

After training, initially in various surgical specialities, then in plastic surgery, Dr. Roomi established his own private practice in London UK in 1989. He left the UK in August 2000 to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia until 2005 and then Oman during 2006.

Since 2007 he has been practicing plastic and hair restoration surgery in Dubai. He is fully registered and licensed by the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK.

He also holds licenses to practice plastic surgery in Dubai by Dubai Health Authority, and the CPQ at Dubai Healthcare City.

Dr. Roomi has published papers in this field. He also patented five inventions, one of which won him four major awards including the First Prize of the Toshiba Year of Invention Competition in 1989, the SMART Award by the British DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) and the Richardson Gold Medal presented at the UK’s House of Lords by the Institute of Patentees and Inventors.

In addition to his clinical duties, he has reviewed many articles for the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and served as an examiner for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery since 2011.
